JOB SUMMARY: The Receptionist is accountable for utilizing customer service principles that strive to provide exceptional service at all times with co-workers, residents, families and the public in their day-to-day work. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Perform incidental clerical work including typing, filing, delivering messages, sorting mail, photocopying, faxing, etc.  Answering, screening and directing of all telephone calls.  Greeting all visitors with the utmost courtesy and directing as required.  Maintaining accurate and updated resident listings.  Preparing of charts and files for new admissions.  Performs other duties as assigned. KEY QUALIFICATIONS:  Secondary school graduate or equivalent education.  Minimum of two years’ computer experience and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).  Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to handle several tasks effectively and meet deadlines.  Must have strong communication skills and be friendly and courteous in dealings with all contacts.  Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills. JOB SUMMARY: The Dietary Aide is accountable to support all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of the residents in accordance with infection control, quality management, legislative requirements and the organization standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Follows proper food handling techniques. Dates, labels, and stores food properly. Keeps work area clean and uncluttered, and completes scheduled cleaning duties. Maintains cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areas.  Assists in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, using proper portion sizes.  Taking orders for the first and second menu choices from residents (by resident name and preference selection, following likes and dislikes).  Assists in serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, using proper portion sizes.  Setting and clearing tables in the dining rooms and washing/sanitizing tables, chairs, serveries.  Performs other duties as assigned. KEY QUALIFICATIONS:  Must have completed or be enrolled in a Food Service Worker program from a recognized college as defined by the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology, or a registered private career college in Ontario.  Must maintain a current Food Handler’s Certificate.  Must be familiar with the correct procedure for service and handling of food.  Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment, for example, dishwasher, conveyor toaster, and meat-slicer.  Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills. JOB SUMMARY: The Care Support Assistant is responsible to follow the directions noted in the plan of care to assist in the nursing and personal care of individual. The Care Support Assistant will assist in the provision of activities of daily living, dining services, comfort and companionship, housekeeping services as assigned. As a valued member of the team, the Care Support Assistant demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality care and support in accordance with the organization’s vision and mission. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  You will provide day to day care and support to each individual resident to offer a warm, safe environment for each resident, ensuring their comfort and welfare needs are met;  Support residents to prepare and transport to home events that promote a positive resident experience;  Acts as a resident companion as directed; provides comfort and support and companionship to residents;  Practices safe food handling techniques throughout all aspects of food service;  Assists with table/tray preparation, serving of beverages and accompaniments, and serving of food; Maintains a safe and clean environment for residents utilizing rotational cleaning practices & infection control principles i.e. disinfects surfaces, dusting, and sweeping;  Completes laundry and housekeeping duties as directed, including, but not limited to, restocking shelves and making beds and transporting personal laundry to and from the laundry to the residents room and organizing closets and cleaning bedside tables;  Maintains and uses all equipment in a safe manner and reports any problems to the supervisor;  Participates in admission orientation and the transfer process of residents as directed;  Communicates with supervisor about problems related to resident care and/or safety;  Transports residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required;  Notifies the supervisor of any team members/resident incidents and completes documentation as required;  Greet all visitors in a positive and supportive manner requesting if they need assistance of any kind;  Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents' families and reports any concerns / complaints to the supervisor;  Advises supervisor immediately of all team members incidents that may result in an Occupational Accident Claim, any concerns with the physical plant, incidents or injuries and completes required reports;  Follows all health and safety policies and procedures. Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents;  Will act as the second care provider in lifts and transfers, including the use of mechanical devices;  Perform other duties as required. KEY QUALIFICATIONS:  Enrolled in a post-secondary school, programs include PT, PTA, SW, SSW, OT, OTA, RT, RTA  Experience working with seniors is preferred  Ability to work independently and/ or as a member of a team  Ability to model the warmth of human connection in communicating with residents, families, and visitors.  Sensitive and empathetic to the needs of the residents.  Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills. Provides care and services to the residents with respect to their senses, communication, activities of daily living and personal life style choices. Observes, reports, records resident conditions and follows care plans as directed by the Registered Nurse and/or Registered Practical Nurse. Participates and contributes in all aspects of quality, risk, records and infection control measures and/or programs. Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, resident’s family, visitors and staff in a positive manner. Performs other duties as assigned.   KEY QUALIFICATIONS : Successful completion of a Personal Support Worker certificate from an approved college or private institution meeting the standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, National Association of Career Colleges, or Ontario Community Support Association Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS). Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment and related bedside care to resident. Demonstrated experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
