The purpose of this position is to provide monitoring and support of the individuals we support while ensuring a safe, clean and secure environment in accordance with the association mission statement which advocates " CLASS supports the right of individuals with intellectual disabilities to choose and lead dignified lives within the community.” GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  -           to provide input into, and implement, the personal centered plans; -           to complete the administration, documentation and monitoring of the provision of medication and nourishment; -           to maintain accurate, updated records for the documentation of the provision of daily care and on-going supports; -           to report the need for repairs and maintenance; -           to purchase groceries and supplies in accordance with the meal plan, the needs of the individuals we support, and the budget; -           to shop for, and with, the individuals we support, retain receipts, and documentation expenditures; -           to develop and maintain positive communication style with all individuals we support, professional services, families, and association personnel; -           to provide transportation for individuals we support as required; -           to maintain a clean safe environment while following WHMIS and health & safety standards and practices in accordance with current legislation; _          takes all reasonable care to comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations; _          Works Safely:  Does not operate any equipment in a way that may endanger themself or another; _          uses or wears any equipment, protective devices or clothing required and does not remove or disable any protective device; _          reports any employment related injury or illness promptly; _          Reports any known defective equipment or protective device that may be dangerous; _          reports any known workplace hazard or violation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or regulations to the employer or supervisor; _          does not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength , unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct; _          completes health and safety inspections as required; _          co-operates and participates in training and educational activities and health and safety investigations as required; _          co-operates with the development, implementation and evaluation of a return to work program, if required; _          Works with others to maintain a safe work environment; and -           other duties as assigned.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE SOUTH SIMCOE AREA: CASUAL FLOAT POOL The Community Living Association for South Simcoe (CLASS) provides services and supports to people with a developmental disability to enable them to live with dignity, maximize their potential for personal growth, and participate in all elements of living in the community. CLASS has  Casual Float Pool vacancies  and will accept applications for people wishing to work in a group home setting. Employees in this pool will not be pre-scheduled and will be required to pick up at least two (2) shifts per twenty-eight (28) day schedule. We provide services in the South Simcoe County area (Alliston/Bradford & Everett). We are just 50 minutes north of Toronto and less than a half hour from the heart of cottage country; an ideal site close to summer and winter recreation and just 40 minutes from Blue Mountain, Snow Valley and the ski hills of Mansfield. Our vision is to be the model community living association in Ontario.
