Monitor issues concerning the riding & advise Member and/or Executive Assistant
Maintain database lists and direct mail to constituents in coordination with Ottawa parliamentary office. Organize, in consultation with Parliament Hill office, outreach activities that offer both visibility for the Member and opportunities to receive constituency feedback. Liaise with various community organizations and federal government departments, liaise with Member's Ottawa Office. Responsible for the day to day functioning of the Alliston office occasional travel to Collingwood office as required. Other duties as required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including media relations. Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines . Fluency in basic office computer skills including Internet, Windows and MS Office; as well as office organizational skills are essential, research and casework skills would be an asset. Strong knowledge of Simcoe-Grey and riding priorities would be an asset. Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience. This position requires flexible work scheduling and may on occasion require evening, weekend and overtime work within the riding.
The ability to work independently yet co-operatively within a tightly-knit office of dedicated individuals and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines. Vehicle and licence required.
