Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Lifeguard performs lifeguard duties. He/she opens and closes the aquatic facility. He/she participates in meetings and in-service training, clinics and club events. He/she ensures the safety of all participants while in the pool facility. He/she maintains an awareness of the hazards pertaining to the pool area. He/she assists in maintaining the pool office, pool deck and storage areas in a neat and tidy manner. He/she ensures safety and emergency procedures are followed, and responds to fire alarms and other emergencies.
High school diploma AND some experience
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience will also be considered
Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) – Pool Option qualification
Current CPR Level C and Standard First Aid qualifications
Aquatic Emergency Care (AEC) certificate, an asset
Language requirement: English Essential, Bilingual an asset
French Language Proficiency (Bilingual an asset)
Level: N/A(No proficiency), 1(Basic), 2(Functional), 3(Advanced), 4(Professional)

In providing customer service
In performing lifeguard duties
In dealing with children
In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing

Salary: $11.57/hr - $14.35hr
Conditions of Employment: Must be available to work evenings, early mornings and weekends
