Seeking an experienced Maintenance leader to join the senior management team at Arnold Bros. Transport Ltd. (ABT). An active member of the senior management team, the Director of Maintenance is primarily accountable for all tractor/trailer maintenance initiatives while maintaining associated costs. The Director will participate in the development of related policies, strategies, and budgets. This role offers potential opportunities for growth.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • As a Top Fleet Employer, effective people management and collaboration with colleagues are essential;
  • Ensure repairs on fleet assets are completed in the most cost-effective manner, minimizing failures and delays;
  • Monitor warranties, work orders, inventory, and actively participate in the acquisition and disposal of equipment;
  • Ensure scheduled service is executed in accordance with a rigorous preventative maintenance program;
  • Provide staff members with effective direction, support, training and development and performance feedback;
  • Implement and update Policies and Procedures, providing meaningful guidance to direct reports; and
  • Foster a culture of safety, open communication and continuous improvement.

Skills Required


  • Relevant post-secondary degree/diploma, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
  • Professional leadership development and role-specific courses, coaching and/or training;
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in related maintenance roles;
  • Experience in facilities management will be considered an asset;
  • Good knowledge of equipment maintenance and strong problem-solving skills;
  • Superior leadership skills and ability to mobilize people, with a record of building cohesive, effective teams;
  • Strong business acumen, risk management skills and ability to manage multiple challenges; and
  • Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate, and exercise tact and diplomacy.
