This is a very physically demanding position and requires several hours of walking and driving, in all types of weather with dogs of various breeds, sizes, personalities and behaviors. An understanding of basic obedience and training is preferred as well as knowledge of positive reinforcement and non-dominance based practises.
You must be willing to walk single dogs as well as groups of up to four dogs and you must be capable of working independently as well as in a team capacity. You must have the ability to remain calm and problem solve in stressful or difficult situations. You must have a working and reliable vehicle, which you are willing to transport dogs in. You must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, provide a criminal background check and have or be willing to acquire your Pet First Aid Certification within the first three months of employment.
You must be honest, reliable, bondable, flexible and be willing to work hours as needed. We offer services to our clients 365 days of the year and require individuals who are available for these varying hours.
