Job Summary: Under the direction of the General Manager, the incumbent will plan, organize and coordinate the day-to-day running of events/functions in the messes’ facilities; plan, organize, coordinate and arrange customer’s food, beverage, facilities and services requirements of events/functions; serve, clean and dismount events/functions as required; attend events to facilitate operations and respond to emergencies and problems; ensure all aspects of events/functions are controlled and implemented as planned; ensure improvement of operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes to provide superior customer service; liaise with hospitality staff on all events/function details; coordinate appointments and visits to see spaces and sites and schedule events using software system; gather information on each event/function to achieve quality event/function productions; coordinate and monitor the use of equipment, facilities, and other mess assets; coordinate staff requirements for events/functions and coordinate and oversee the protocol, table settings and arrangements, seating plans, technical requirements, parking, name tags, decorations, special menus, and beverage requirements for events/functions; etc.
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, food service management, or a related field AND some years’ experience in hospitality or food and beverage service sector
College diploma or certificate in hospitality, food service management, or a related field AND several years’ experience in hospitality or food and beverage service sector
Certification relating to special events, meetings or conference management, an asset
Provincial Responsible Service of Alcohol certification, as required
Language requirement: English Essential, Bilingual an asset
French Language Proficiency
Level: N/A (No proficiency), 1(Basic), 2(Functional), 3(Advanced), 4(Professional)

In preparing marketing strategies

Salary: $46,040 - $54,180 per annum
Conditions of Employment: Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends.
