Customer Service Representative

Temporary Full-time (Mar 2019 – Feb 2020)

35 hours/week

2019-18

Reporting to the Deputy Clerk this position performs various tasks associated with providing customer service and information to the public regarding all services. Respond to customer complaints and inquiries, research information, liaise with internal staff and contracted service providers regarding investigations, then facilitate responses with the public accordingly. This position is responsible for cashiering, payment application and initial customer inquiries regarding taxation and utility balances.

Skills Required

Qualifications:

  • Requires a diploma in Business, Accounting or related education and experience.
  • Requires 3 years’ experience in a reception position.
  • Previous experience cash handling.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Computer competency with Word, Excel and accounting programs.
  • Experience with Great Plains and Perfect Mind would be an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Be able to multi-task using a multi-line phone system while assisting customers at the counter.
  • Receive and process payments in Diamond-Great Plains.
  • Sort and distribute incoming corporate mail and process outgoing mail (courier & post).
  • Be able to handle cash and balance daily receipts.
  • Be able to handle difficult customers.

The successful candidate must have the ability to align with established goals and objectives and is able to create/follow plans and processes accordingly to deliver task and goal completion to a high standard. Salary Range: Rate currently under review
