Job Description

  • Responds to client inquiries
  • Greet clients of the Resource Centre
  • Answers the telephone, and directs calls appropriately
  • Assist clients in accessing the services that are most appropriate given their current situation which could include referrals to enhanced services or direction to other Employment programs
  • Assist clients in the use of computers, internet and other business equipment
  • Conducts brief assessments with individuals outlining employment, career and personal goals.
  • Develop a client service action plan, in conjunction with client, which highlights the steps to be followed in order that the client can move to their employment and career goals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files according to agency procedure
  • Refer clients to other community resources where appropriate
  • Develop relationships with external referral agencies such as Ontario works, Employment Insurance, Literacy, etc.
  • Promote agency programs and services
  • Collect daily statistics on services provided and collect client suggestions and ensure they are submitted to the Program Co-ordinator in a timely manner
  • Analyse the local labour market to determine skill development needs and occupational development opportunities
  • Develops job fairs in co-operation with Employer Service Professionals






Skills Required

Must be proficient in both French and English. Education training and/or equivalent experience in employment and career counselling.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
