Position Title: Chief Financial Officer Job Category: Administration, Business & Finance Location: Alliston, Ontario Job Details: Permanent, Full time, Monday to Friday. Start Date ASAP. Overview: Beattie’s Farm is a family run, multifaceted business. We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to perform effective risk management and plan/oversee the financial strategy. The CFO will establish financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting detailed financial information for all Beattie’s Farm businesses. The goal of this complex role is to protect the company’s revenues and profits to ensure full financial control and sustainable growth. The Chief Financial Officer will work closely with the financial management team and bookkeeper. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage month and year-end processes, reporting to upper management Responsible for overseeing the general ledger Revenue and expenditure variance analysis Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements, including: capital assets reconciliations trust account statement reconciliations, fixed asset activity debt activity Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles Coordinate and complete annual audits Provide recommendations Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions Establish and implement optimal account management operating system for use at the Distillery and Farm offices for effective tracking of POS, payroll, inventory and all other identified needs, under the direction of the COO Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy Meet financial accounting objectives Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions Ensure all information is maintained in a confidential and secure manner Attend monthly manager’s meetings, providing financial updates Attend and provide an annual Finance report for the AGM Financial Management Oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts, the management of payroll (including familiarity with new legislation), Receiver General and GWL remittances Oversee A/P and A/R ensuring all invoices are posted and paid accordingly Manage relationships with TD account managers, Insurance broker, CRA excise officers and any other major stakeholder Establish and communicate annual budgets for each department, creating and maintaining spreadsheets with all transactions Approve or deny additional expenditures or special requests, ensuring all expenditures exceeding $10,000 are presented to the Board for approval Oversee the day to day financial operations of the retail store Sign cheques Oversee supplier cost reduction efforts by the Production Manager Qualifications Minimum 5 years experience in a senior finance role BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or Business required, MSc/MBA is considered an asset CPA designation preferred In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications Strong leadership and organizational skills Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills Experience working in the alcohol or agriculture industry is considered an asset Compensation A competitive benefits package is offered, commensurate with experience.
