Position : Regional Payroll Administrator Country: Canada Province/State: Ontario City: Barrie Street: N/A Employment Type: Full Time Function Note: The Regional Payroll Administrator s responsible for the processing of payroll for Skyline Investments and its related resort entities, in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with established policies and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have prior payroll experience, knowledge of accounting principles, and a drive to work collaboratively across our organization with multiple stakeholders. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Process all employee's payroll using tracker system and CanPay Monthly billings, insurance, WSIB, EHT, and revenue Canada for all properties Year-end Government reconciliations Process all T4 slips yearly Work in compliance with Revenue Canada Issue ROE's Calculate and pay garnishes Prepare journal entry and enter in to Navision Distribution of wages and benefits to departments for financial statements Administration and processing of the biweekly payroll for multiple business entities under the Skyline Investments group of companies, in adherence to company policy and provincial and federal regulations. Verifying the accuracy of payroll, utilizing a documented check-list and verifying against pre and post-transmission reports. Verification of all Payroll Action Forms submitted and processed by Human Resources (new hire, rate change, transfer, separation, garnishment, etc) Preparation and issuance of Records of Employment (ROE) within the legislated time frame Administration and maintenance of related payroll databases, including vacation, third party remittances, WSIB, garnishees, RRSP contributions, etc. including ensuring payments are made as required, in a timely manner. Act as payroll contact for all government related inquiries with timely and accurate follow-up Facilitate distribution of required data to support property level daily labour reporting and other ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as required. Creation of required Journal Entries following the processing of each pay period (i.e. Payroll JE, Vacation JE, RRSP JE, Accrual JEs, etc Responding to payroll related questions from employees in a timely manner. Performing year end payroll reconciliations and processing (T4 summaries, T4 returns, EHT and WSIB , Previous experience with Advanced Tracker (time & attendance) and CanPay (payroll processing) would be considered an asset. This position will require ownership over both systems and their related databases and set-up. Proficient in the use of computers, technology, Microsoft Office products, with an advanced proficiency required in Excel. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification preferred. Strong preference to those with CanPay and Advanced Tracker experience. Experience in deployment of payroll solutions / software would be an asset. Must have a strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel Ability to learn and understand payroll related sections of applicable legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Income Tax Act, Employment Insurance Act, Canada Pension Plan Act, etc. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, work under pressure and balance strict deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision yet remain accountable to multiple stakeholders across several business entities. Must be flexible in scheduling and able to work on holidays or weekends as may be required from time to time, to ensure payroll is processed without interruption.
