Assistant Manager, Training and Development Conveniently located 45 minutes north of the Greater Toronto Area in beautiful Alliston, Ontario, Canada, is Simcoe Parts Service - a premier logistics provider and proud member of the Honda Logistics Group. SPS is seeking an Assistant Manager, Training and Development to join our team. Reporting directly to the Manager of Human Resources , the successful candidate must be a good team player, have a solid background and a good understanding of learning and development adult learning principles. This role also requires the management of a small training team, which includes a Training Supervisor, Material Handling Trainers and a Recruitment Specialist. Responsibilities: Training Centre team management Consult with internal leadership teams to define training needs for production teams Conduct and facilitate both classroom and ‘on the job’ training Conduct training needs analysis to identify and assess gaps in current training department and provide sustainable solutions. Create and implement training strategy aligned to company needs and requirements Maintaining all training records and files Provide training opportunities for future development of all production areas Create and implement training materials and schedules. Manage a team of trainers and training specialists Experience and competency requirements: A minimum of 5 years of learning and development experience and a solid understanding of adult learning principles, plus 5 years in a leadership role Certificate in Adult Education or similar qualification Excellent written and verbal communication skills Expert skill in design and delivery of training/education programs for different audiences Strong computer skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint A good understanding and high regard for Health and Safety Ability to ‘multi-task’ and prioritize work in a time sensitive environment A strong commitment to customer service A good understanding of trending data best practice implementation A good understanding of recruitment cycles is an asset We thank all candidates for their applications, however only those considered for an interview will be contacted.
